38+ All About Mudroom Laundry Room Ideas

Where should you put your laundry room? I like to put them near bedrooms and bathrooms. It is where the dirty clothes can easily removed and clean clothes can stored. However, there are some advantages to locating the laundry room elsewhere in the house, such as near the kitchen, in a mudroom, in a hallway closet, or even in the basement. Laundry room in the mudroom

Many designers and homeowners prefer to put laundry room in the mudroom, whether it is near the kitchen or not. A mudroom/laundry room combination is especially useful in homes where family members get particularly dirty from work, sports, or hobbies. Those filthy clothes can removed and washed immediately before those family members can. Those filthy clothes can removed and immediately washed before those family members track that dirt through the rest of the house. Unsoiled but wet clothing can placed directly in a mudroom dryer for those who live in rainy or snowy climates.

Room Combination Ideas

Putting laundry room in the mudroom makes a lot of sense because the room is for storing soiled items like shoes. Plus, because the mudroom is usually out of sight of guests, having a few piles or baskets of laundry on the mudroom floor isn’t a big deal if you have enough floor space.

These combination appears to be a no-brainer. However, it may not work as well for some people, such as if your mudroom is located far away from the majority of your bedrooms. Taking clothes up and down stairs or to the other side of the house may make laundry an even more dreaded chore.  If you don’t like the idea of mixing muddy boots with clean clothes, these combination might be a bad idea. However, if you have enough space in the mudroom, you can set up a separate area for hanging, drying, and folding clean clothes.
